It doesn't seem like I have been in the real estate business for 30 years. The last 20 with Gary and Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller seem to have flown by. When you work in an industry you love I suppose time has a way of moving quickly. I got my real estate license while attending college at San Dieago State. Upon graduation I knew that I wanted to go into real estate as a career. Starting out I was in the office and with clients during the day and waiting tables at night just trying to make ends meet. My broker at the time was my father, and I guess you could say that I really grew up around the business. I have been involved in many different facets of the business starting in commercial, moving to residential, and worked my way into development sales specializing in new home communities.
Moving to Coeur d'Alene in 1990 was a great decision. My father, George, and I opened a brokerage and quickly decided to join Gary Schneidmiller at Coldwell Banker. The value that the National brand brought was tremendous. Gary's leadership and mentality to facilitate business with agents rather than compete with them was a true game changer and testament to his character. I was able to grow as a sales associate into sales team management, construction management and hone my skills in development services. Loving what you do has to be a part of life or you won't have success. My competitive drive and passion for real estate showed, the fact that I could compete nationally with other agents just added to my drive to be successful. I was fortunate to be a member of the top 10 agents nationwide several years in a row.
I felt like it was time to take my skills and really use them at the next level. In 2008 I shifted from a sales team manager into my role as General Manager at Coldwell Banker. There is great satisfaction in helping people not only define their vision for success but helping them achieve it. Every day is different and I am so grateful to be contributing to the leadership that values community and relationships in business as much as I do. Helping to bring passionate, ethical people into the business and then seeing the impact that they have helping people with the life changing event of buying or selling a home is so rewarding.
When I am not at the office you will find me spending time with family. I am a very proud father of four boys. Our oldest is at Washington State University studying Criminal Justice and Business, our second is at Gonzaga playing soccer and working towards his degree in Business, our third is at Westminster, playing soccer and working towards a degree in International Business, and our youngest is loving being the "only" child. I love living in the northwest and being with my family whether we are at the lake, riding horses, walking our dogs or cheering for a soccer game I can't imagine calling anywhere else home.
